Volunteers sought to plot new Stoney Creek community garden

The new volunteer-run community garden behind the Stoney Creek Municipal Service Centre is ready and offering free plots for the growing season.

Seasoned and novice volunteer gardeners are being invited to join an organizational meeting for a new community garden planned on the site of the demolished Kiwanis Community Centre in Stoney Creek.

Coun. Jeff Beattie is hosting the “brainstorming session” at 6:30 p.m. on April 11 in the former council chambers at the Stoney Creek Municipal Service Centre, 777 Hwy. 8., located next door to the 1.34-acre garden plot.
